Vision of Moitri Scheme
Assam Moitri Scheme is a step towards good governance. The purpose of this scheme is to renovate the police buildings. This scheme will not only improve the police station buildings but will improve overall vision of public towards police.
Moitri stands for “Mission for overall improvement of Thana for responsive image”. Whenever a person visits police station he will get a good impression by seeing cleanliess.
Thana is a public place. So why not a public place must be clean. A clean place gives good feeling. So government is taking steps to improve it.
Not only public but police also welcomed this scheme. Moreover, Police of Assam state expressed their happiness by tweet.
Let’s know Moitri scheme work plan
In short everything needs for rennovation of police station. Separate entry gates for women and children.
Police station will use Solar energy. Assam is famous for Bamboos. Engineers will use Bamboos in construction. This way this scheme also support Narendra Modi’s vocal for local scheme. This scheme boosts the employment for Bamboo sellers.
Separate counselling rooms to be created as per plan. Thanas will use this room for counselling of drug addicts and juveniles. That is to say, scheme is completely a rennovation plan. Not only this, Separate video conferencing, meeting rooms come under this plan.
Thanas will have a horticulture and floriculture plan. Not only this, they will have proper landscaping designing in place.
Proper maintenance plan is in place. Maintenance plan like painting, furniture repair is in place.
Special toilets planned for specially enabled people.
Government expenses on this scheme
Assam has 340 police stations. For each Thana Goverment budget is approximately 2 crores rupees.
First phase of scheme was launched on 28 December 2020. CM launched it virtually. In spite of Corona pandemic almost 55 police stations got rennovated.
